FAQs
TICKETING WITH SIGNIFICANT PRODUCTIONS
Significant Productions (SigPro) is a mission-based non-profit organization. We proudly own and operate The Sharon Performing Arts Center ® and produce everything you see onstage at The SigPro Studio ™, and we exist to support and sustain art, artists, and audience. That mission includes how you experience us, starting with the box office. We’re always listening to patron feedback, and the ticket-buying experience has been a frequent topic. Smooth, fast, and reliable is the goal, whether in-person or online, and we've sometimes missed the mark. So, we're making a change.
Beginning December 1st, 2026, SigPro will be the only authorized ticket seller for The Sharon Performing Arts Center ® and The SigPro Studio ™. The Villages Entertainment will no longer sell tickets for our venues.
As an independent nonprofit, we rely on our patrons and the generosity of our donors so that we can continue to deliver on our mission for the communities we serve. As we’ve listened to your feedback, it became clear that you want:
- A smoother, faster, and more reliable purchasing experience.
- More direct access for donors and sponsors to reach our team and gain immediate support.
- Centralization of the online purchasing process to our venues’ secure website(s) TheSharon.com and The SigProStudio.com.
As a non-profit, every ticket sold supports our mission, and having one place to buy means fewer mix-ups and a trusted team to help you directly and efficiently. You’re the reason we do what we do.
In person: Our box office at The Sharon Performing Arts Center ® in Spanish Springs Town Square in The Villages ®, Florida, will be the ONLY in-person location to buy tickets for shows and events at The Sharon ® and The SigPro Studio ™.
Online: Visit the TheSharon.com and TheSigProStudio.com to purchase tickets. Please note both websites are the ONLY websites authorized to sell tickets to performances held at The Sharon ® and The SigPro Studio ™
By phone: You’ll also be able to reach a team member at (352)668-9502 Monday – Friday, 10am – 3pm with any questions or challenges. We're here to help!
Tickets to performances at The Sharon ® and The SigPro Studio ™ will no longer be available at The Villages ® Box Office Locations, or online at The Villages ® Entertainment website.
Any other party operating in the sale or procurement of tickets to The Sharon Performing Arts Center® or The SigPro Studio™ on any website other than www.TheSharon.com or www.The SigProStudio.com is unauthorized.
For now, The SigPro Studio will continue to operate on a Will Call only basis, but we are considering options for how to best serve you in-person further south! We don’t have anything concrete to share today, but stay tuned for more soon! Join our newsletter so you never miss a thing.
Your existing tickets will work for entry to performances at The Sharon and The SigPro Studio. For tickets purchased from The Villages Entertainment Box Office before December 1, 2026:
- The Conditions of Sale published by The Villages Entertainment at the time of your original purchase will be honored.
- If you already have your printed or digital PDF tickets in-hand, just bring them with you and we will scan you right in!
- If you opted for Will Call pickup, simply bring yourself and your ID to the box office window up to 90 minutes before showtime at The Sharon, or 30 minutes before showtime at The SigPro Studio. We’ll be ready to serve you! Please note that the person whose name is on the order must be the person to pick up the tickets at Will Call.
- If you selected a print-at-home or digital wallet ticket when you made your purchase, you will receive a dedicated email with tickets and/or additional information.
- If you previously received an on-account credit to your box office account with The Villages Entertainment, that credit will remain on your account with The Villages Entertainment after this transition; You will NOT be able to use credit from your The Villages Entertainment Box Office account for ticket purchases made for events at The Sharon and The SigPro Studio after November 23, 2026. If you’ve had your eye on the perfect seat and want to use your account credit, make sure you do it by November 23, 2026!
No. This change will not increase ticket prices nor service fees.
We remain committed to making the arts accessible to everyone and always aim to beat ticket prices offered for similar offerings in neighboring areas. Compare our ticket prices and fees to similar offerings at other venues across Florida, and we can almost guarantee that 9 times out of 10 our ticket prices and service fees are significantly lower. Plus, you don’t have to drive an hour on the highway or pay to park. Our bar pricing is more reasonable, too! In other words, visiting your hometown performing arts center saves you hours of driving and hundreds of dollars a year!
That’s the long and short of it, and if that’s enough said for you, feel free to keep scrolling through our other topics. But because integrity and accountability are foundational to who we are, we think it’s important to explain more about service fees, what they are, what they cover, and how they’re calculated. So for all you detail-oriented friends, here’s some more information.
What is a service fee?
A service fee (also Convenience Fee, Box Office Fee, Ticketing Fee, etc.) is a broad box office and ticketing industry concept that describes a variety of fixed and variable costs involved specifically in selling and delivering a ticket to a buyer. Different venues and operators have established their own unique fee structures to cover different amounts of these costs, and SigPro and its venues are no different.
Why a service fee? Why not just raise the price of the ticket?
Base ticket prices are agreed upon between the venue and the touring act or artist, and the money raised from base ticket sales is often split with the touring act or artist in a revenue- sharing model. Service fees are NEVER split or shared but are retained by SigPro and therefore more reliably and closely offset the actual costs of selling those tickets for that performance than blanket ticket pricing increases.
What are the costs your service fee is intended to cover?
The service fee is intended to help recover some or most of the costs of things like:
- Fees our ticketing software platform charges us per-ticket sold and per-transaction processed online, in-person, and by phone.
- Processing your credit or debit card payment via our payment processor, or processing and labor time associated with accepting and handling cash and other manual payment methods (when accepted).
- Email servers, phone lines and call queues, ticket stock and printers, and other ancillary technology needed to communicate with you about your purchase, deliver your tickets, and ensure a fast, smooth, and easy experience every time you buy.
- Wages of the friendly folks in our box office who are here to help you pick and purchase the best performances, seats, packages, and additional experiences for you and your theatre buddies!
What will your service fee be? How is it calculated?
We’ve settled on a service fee of 11% for all ticketing and box office transactions across all sales channels and payment methods. This is the same service fee currently being charged by The Villages Entertainment Box Office. The service fee is calculated on the total price of the transaction after discounts and promos but before vouchers/credits, taxes or other, non-service fees (when applicable).
We’ve taken great care to ensure that our service fees are significantly lower than venues in nearby markets. For example, a major venue in Orlando charges service fees of approximately 18%, while another venue in the Tampa area is closer to 21%. In fact, in our research into venues with published/disclosed box office fee structures, we haven’t found one at less than 15% in the state of Florida.
How and where will ticket price and fees be disclosed and displayed? Will I be surprised at checkout?
Consistent with Federal law in the United States, we display all-inclusive pricing starting right from the event listing and seat map, and we disclose all fees separately from the ticket’s face value pricing. If you hover over a seat on the seat map, you’ll see the all-in price and an option to display the pricing breakdown. If you add two $50 tickets to your cart and then go to checkout, you’ll pay $100 flat — no surprise fees at the cart.
No. Productions at The Sharon will continue to go on sale on Wednesdays at 10am at the box office, by phone, and online here. Yes! Group rates will be available at The Sharon AND The SigPro Studio for single transactions of 10 or more tickets to the same performance paid with one method of payment. Discounts vary by show and may not apply to every performance, bundle, series, or subscription. Group rates can be purchased through any of our sales channels for eligible performances. Group rates may not be stackable with other discounts, promotions, or other offers, and such other offers may at times provide more significant discounts than the group rate. More information is available in our updated Conditions of Sale.
We understand that things happen and you can’t always use your purchased tickets. If you are unable to attend an event, you may elect one of the following:
- You may exchange your tickets for another performance of the same production, subject to availability and payment of any price difference. There is no fee for an exchange.
- You may reassign your tickets to another party by contacting the box office. There is no fee for reassigning tickets. Reassigned tickets remain subject to these terms.
- You may be able to resell your tickets for up to $1 over face value through our resale platform if enabled for your event. There may be fees associated with this, which will be disclosed at the time of resale, and a successful resale of your ticket is not guaranteed.
If we cancel or reschedule an event:
- For canceled events, refunds will be processed automatically within seven (7) days after the cancellation announcement.
- If we reschedule an event for a date/time you can not attend, you must request a refund within seven (7) days after the new date is announced.
- Changes in cast, performers, or program are not grounds for a refund.
- Refunds for tickets to canceled or rescheduled shows, including fees, are issued to the original form of payment.
What about returns and refunds?
Tickets cannot be returned nor refunded once a transaction has been completed. If you change your mind about a performance or are otherwise unable to attend, you may exercise the options listed above.
For additional peace of mind, we will soon begin offering the option of adding ticket insurance during the checkout flow. Our ticket insurance plans will always require an affirmative opt-in from the customer during checkout and will never be selected for you by default. Our ticket insurance partner guarantees rapid claim decisions and payments on approved claims, and we plan to offer a choice between a list of covered claim reasons (like illness, car trouble, travel issues, or family emergency) and a no-fault plan for ultimate flexibility.
Ticket insurance may not always be available for all performances, packages, and subscriptions and may not be available with flexible payment plans. Options, pricing, and terms will be disclosed during the checkout flow. Ticket insurance cannot be added once the purchase transaction is complete.
If you ever find yourself in a situation with a ticket you can no longer use, please contact us to our team for help with what your options may be. SigPro cares, and we are here to help.
